The focus this month: Private Victories

Private victories represent the first three habits:  be proactive, put first things first and begin with the end in mind.  We all have an emotional bank account that is part of our private lives. Please review the list below and reflect on deposits you have made in your personal account and others.  Have you made any withdrawals from yourself or others recently?  What can you do to make a positive deposit this week?  #livingthehabits

Staff meeting:   We will have a staff meeting on October 3rd starting at 3:00pm.  We will start at 3:00 on the dot.   Agenda link.

New pacing guides:  Mrs. Stone will be presenting the new Wonders pacing guide in PLCs this week in order to prevent having an additional meeting.  I would like to ask 2nd grade to attend PLCs on Thursday instead of Wednesday this week to attend the information session in the Platform.

SIT plan:  The SIT team is hard at work on the SIT plan for 2016-17.  We will be sharing the draft of the plan early this week.  I know you all are so very busy, but I hope you will take some time to review the plan and provide feedback to our SIT facilitators.  Thanks for the feedback provided thus far.

75$ for classroom supplies:  We are so fortunate that the superintendent provided 75$ to classroom teachers for supplies.  We were granted and extension due to the fact that we were in transition with our bookkeeper.  We will be sending details to spend the money early in the week.  Stay tuned for details.

Field Day:  Mr. Bradian has sent out preliminary details for the upcoming field days on October 6th and 7th. Please see his email for more complete details.
K-2 Field Day--Thursday, October 6, 2016
8:20 - 9:50:  Kindergarten
9:50 -11:20: 1st Grade
12:50 - 2:10 :  2nd Grade

3-5 Field Day--Friday, October 7, 2016
8:20 - 9:50: 3rd Grade
10:00 - 11:30: 4th Grade
11:40 - 12:10 -------- LUNCH --------- 1:10 - 2:10: 5th Grade (rotate through two stations before lunch and four stations after lunch)

AIG....reminder:  The course is a requirement for our 4th and 5th grade teachers teaching AIG clusters.  It is highly recommended for teachers teaching clusters in K-3.  Please register on SchoolLink.  The course is called ACAD2903: Curriculum Differentiation for the Gifted Learner in Lee County .

New Science Teacher:  I am thrilled to announce that Ashley Dossenbach will be stepping back into her role as our Habit 7 science teacher in the coming weeks.  She will no doubt do an awesome job engaging our learners with fascinating science experiments.  Ashley will remain in her classroom until we have a replacement (we are working hard).  Therefore, we will not have an instructor for science for the next week.  You may certainly use the computer cart during that time or utilize the plethora of science materials to conduct an experiment yourself.

Leave a Legacy:  This week we kick-off Leave a Legacy.  The details of this fundraiser (for our school and charities) can be found here.

Clubs: Please see Mr. Hurdt's email in regards to clubs.  The club list can be found here.  The spreadsheet to submit your student choices can be found here

SafeSchools: I have notified staff members who have not yet completed Safe School modules.  Thank you all for squeezing these training sessions into your  tight schedules.

Instruction:  Remember to hit the FOCUSED FIVE. We'll be talking about literacy rich environments during our staff meeting on Monday.
